State Ambassador: Heather (Walker) DiBenedetto
Heather serves as the Maine Ambassador for the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD). With a background in education and a strong commitment to advocacy, she is focused on strengthening connections within Maine’s rare disease community, increasing awareness, and improving access to resources for individuals and families navigating rare and often invisible conditions. In addition to her work with NORD, Heather is an ambassador for Victoria’s Voice Foundation and The Compassionate Leadership Project, where she supports initiatives centered on prevention, empowerment, and empathy-driven leadership. She is also the founder of Invisibly Empowered, a platform dedicated to amplifying unheard voices and helping others move from surviving to thriving.
