State Ambassador: Becky Barnes
Becky Barnes is a patient advocate with 17 years of legislative experience, dedicated to addressing the healthcare needs of rural Appalachian communities. A recent Bachelor of Social Work graduate and current University of Kentucky MSW student, she focuses on amplifying patient voices and improving access to care for individuals with rare diseases. Becky brings a deep commitment to advocacy, community engagement, and meaningful policy change through the Rare Action Network. State Ambassador: Robert Myrick
Robert Myrick II, a high school basketball coach who lives with #aHUS (atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome), a rare disorder that results in low red blood cell counts and an inability of the kidneys to filter waste from the blood. Robert also serves as the NORD Rare Action Network Ambassador for his home state of Kentucky!
